- Youth who drink alcohol are more likely to experience social problems, such as fighting and lack of participation in youth activities.
- If an alcohol still refuses to get help after their loved ones have staged an informal intervention, the family should reach out for the help of a professional interventionists; there is a large body of evidence that has indicated that an alcoholic is much more likely to accept treatment on the day of the intervention when a professional interventionist is present.
