  • More than 2 billion people across the world consume alcoholic in some form. Alcohol consumption can have a negative impact on an individual's health, but the severity of these effects will depend on various factors, which include both the amount of alcohol consumed over time, and the pattern of drinking.
  • Consuming one or two drinks per day for healthy men and one drink a day for healthy non-pregnant women is generally considered acceptable consumption without health risks.
  • Almost sixty percent of high school seniors reported being drunk on at least one occasion in their lives, according to the most recent Monitoring the Future National Survey on Drug Use.
  • Caffeinated Alcoholic Beverages (CAZs) are premixed beverages that combine alcohol, caffeine, and other stimulants. They may be malt- or distilled-spirits-based and usually have higher alcohol content than beer (i.e., 5%-12% on average for CAZs and 4%-5% for beer). The caffeine content in these beverages is usually not reported.
